Biografie

Carlos Gil born on May 12 1948 in Madrid, is member of E.F.A “European film Academy” y Academia de las Ciencias y Artes Cinematograficas de España (Spanish Academy) directed the box office hit, ‘School Killer’ as well as six other feature films, various TV series and has been a prestigious Second Unit Director and First Assistant Director in important movies like ‘Indiana Jones’ trilogy directed by Steven Spielberg, among many others .

He has directed feature films like ‘School Killer’ (2000), ‘Alas Rotas’ (2002’, ‘Las Llaves de la Independencia’ (2005) and Co-Directer ‘Barrios Altos’ (1987). For televison, he has directed series such as ‘Dangerous Curves’ (1992), ‘Villarriba y Villaabajo’ (1995), ‘Hospital Central’ (1999) and ‘Queen of Swords’ (2000). 

Second Unit Director in ‘King Salomon Mines’ (1985 J. Lee Thompson), ‘Delta Force’ (1986, Menahe Golan), ‘Firewalker’(1986, J. Lee Thompson), ‘A Dollar for the Dead’ (1998, Gene Quintano) and ‘Asterix in the Olympic Games’ (2006, Frederick Forester). 

As Assistant Director in over 80 films including movies such as ‘100 Rifles’ (1969, Tom Gries), ‘Cromwell’ (1970, Ken Huges, ‘Travels with my Aunt’ (1972, George Cukor), Wild Horses (1973 John Sturges) Never say Never ( 1982 Irving Khresner), ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’ (1984, Steven Spielberg’) the hit (1985 Stephen Frears)‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ (1989, Steven Spielberg). 

Associate Producer, Executive Producer, Producer, Executive Consultant, in films and T.V. series such as Firewalker (1986 J. Lee Thomson) Inocent Heroes (1989 Menahem Golan) ‘Fantasmas en Herencia’ (1989, Juan Luis Buñuel), ‘The Big Man’ (David Leland) Dark‘Justice’ (1990, David Calloway) 

He had been president of jury in different films festivals like “ IV Festival Internacional de Cine del Aire”, “Alicante Film Festival”, and for some time deputy director of MOSTRA DE VALENCIA “Cinema del Mediterrani”(International Valencia Film Festival)
